*Note that Volume II costs $5.00 more than the other three Verdi volumes. The reason is purely economic: It has 180 more pages than Volume I, on which the pricing decisions were made.

As with the Puccini Libretti volumes, Sherrill Milnes wrote the Foreword for the Verdi. As he is recognized as an international specialist in the difficult Verdi baritone roles, this seemed most appropriate. Since the first publication of the Libretti series in late 1994, Nico Castel has been deluged with positive comments regarding his accomplishments both as a vocal artist and as a diction teacher? both positions of which he has held for many years at the Metropolitan Opera.
