PROKOFIEV'S COMPLETE SONG TEXTS

This is Professor Richter's sixth volume of Russian song texts, containing phonetic transcriptions, literal and idiomatic English translations.

This volume contains the translations and IPA spelling of all 62 song texts used in Prokofiev's songs. It was preceded by Tchaikovsky's Complete Song Texts in 1999; Rachmaninov's Complete Song Texts in 2000; Mussorgksy's Complete Song Texts in 2002; Selected Nineteenth Century Russian Song Texts in 2005; and Shostakovich's Complete Song Texts in 2007. These texts are based on a variety of sources and poets, including H.C. Andersen, Pushkin, two songs from the film "Lieutenant Kizhe", one song from the film "Alexander Nevsky", several folk songs, two duets for tenor and bass, and many more.
